Over the next few months I will be listing one of the best collections to come up for sale on Ebay in recent history.
These records come from a person who worked in the industry in the 60's and 70's for some of the biggest band, and biggest labels !!!
The best thing about the collection is most records are either still sealed, unplayed, or at worst played once or twice !!!
There are many Acetates, Unreleased stuff, Promos, Demo copies, White Labels, Mis-pressings, Factory Sample copies, Ones offs and all in the best possible condition.
From classic rock acts to Folk Rock , Psych , Soul , R&B, Garage, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Small Faces, David Bowie, Queen, Beach Boys, Cream, The Who, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and all other Apple releases to obscure Psych stuff from Europe and all stops in-between.

Well, what you have in front of you could well be the RAREST ROLLING STONES ALBUM / ITEM IN EXISTENCE !!!
It is of course the ORIGINAL FIRST UK pressing of "Sticky Fingers" from 1971 with the famous Andy Warhol zipper cover, BUT what makes this album ONE OF A KIND is that the A side has been pressed on both sides of the vinyl !!!
Now mistakes like this were not common at all at the time, and especially for such big names as THE BEATLES or THE ROLLING STONES and under the scrupulous eye of the pressing plant would never make it past the production line, but here is the story as told to me by a person who worked for the band in the late 60's early 70's and whose copy this was:
The first printing that was done, about 50 or so copies were wrongly pressed (the same side, side A on both sides), and were about to be destroyed, but the person I bought it from, who worked with the band at the time decided to keep this record as a novelty souvenir item, all other copies were destroyed, and NONE HAVE MADE IT TO THE SHOPS. This copy could well be the only surviving copy, as was taken by the person who worked with the band at the time from the pile that was about to be destroyed.

As I said, mistakes as big as this were noticed very quick when dealing with the big names like THE BEATLES, or THE ROLLING STONES, and NO COPIES OF THIS MIS-PRESS EVER MADE IT OUT OF THE PRESSING PLANT AND INTO THE SHOPS, ONLY THIS COPY AS FAR AS HE KNOWS SURVIVED TO THIS DAY !!!

As you can see from the photos, the labels are different on both sides, so are correct, but the vinyl plays SIDE A on both sides, BOTH sides MATRIX number is: COC-59100-A4 factory stamped, and T.K.L. and ROLLING STONES RECORDS hand etched. which makes this FIRST EVER PRESSING of this album. What makes this mis-pressing even stranger is that at 9 O'clock on the run off groove it has A on one side and C on the other, which to me would mean that the first plates ever to be printed were wrong all together, and both plates although different were both the same side, and soon changed, I have seen C and D and other variation on FIRST PRESSINGS but never A and C which means these plates, or at least one of them, were destroyed SOON AFTER THIS MISTAKE !!!

This mistake was quickly noticed (50 copies or so pressed), and apart from the copy rescued by the person working for the band, THE REST WERE DESTROYED AND NEVER MADE IT OUT OF THE PRESSING PLANT OR INTO THE SHOPS.
HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET WHAT IS PROBABLY THE ONLY SURVIVING EXAMPLE OF THIS ULTRA RARE MIS-PRESSING - A REAL MUSEUM PIECE !!!

As well as that the rarity of this museum item the record was NEVER PLAYED until a week ago by myself !!!

So if you are a serious ROLLING STONES collector you will not want to miss out on what is possibly the rarest Rolling Stones album, and probably the one and only chance to get this mis-pressing album, which I am sure there are not any more copies around !!!

Label/Format: Rolling Stones – Customized format.

Label Condition: Very close to mint, There is only 1 faint spindle trace. No wear at all around the hole areas. This classic album has clearly hardly been played. (Please see label scans for all information needed), the labels are the correct labels on both sides, as opposed to the VINYL itself.

Cat Number: COC 59100.

Mono or Stereo: Stereo (this was never issued in mono).

Country of Manufacture: England, UK

Rarity: This mis-pressing format could be the only known copy in existence.

Original Year of Release: 1971

Matrix Nos: COC 59100-A4 and COC 59100-A4 (making it a one of a kind pressing)

Stamper Codes: A / C (9 O'clock position on the run off groove) Also T.K.L. Rolling Stones Records is etched on the run out grooves both sides.

Cover Grade and Format: EX+++ (just a notch below MINT-), the best I have seen for years, its so very fragile and prone to damage and wear. Its a non-gatefold and not laminated either. The inside has like a double inner area divider, the front has a picture of a pair of underpants with the text ‘Andy Warhol…this photograph may not be…etc’. The original zip is included and still firmly attached and undamaged and the very fragile belt area that is held together by the zipper has only 1 minor crease, NO tears, fading or fraying or any writing - again unusual. Inside too is the insert with the band . The reverse has the famous tongue and lips logo that became their trademark design thereafter. This insert is virtually mint too with hardly any signs of wear or creasing whatsoever.

Cover Front: This will rarely, if ever, be found looking better. Almost totally wear-free with no rubbing, significant creasing or discoloration. This is nearly off-the-shelf and the zipper looks brilliant beyond belief. Still shiny like the day it was made, and all the teeth meet together perfectly right to the very top. A beautiful item that I doubt if I will ever see better.

Cover Back: The virtually perfect backside that has hardly any trace of ringwear - so many do, even the later ones. Again clean, uncreased and the only small marks is two tiny indentations almost certainly caused from its days in the pressing factory stacked up against another copy’s zipper, the position of the two tiny marks is in almost perfect alignment to the zip front on this copy. They remain almost invisible and can only be found if look for. I would strongly suggest the winning bidder does not stack any other album up against this cover or it too could have marks appearing, the best idea is to store this precious cover inside a heavy duty outer sleeve and put a piece of card at the front for protection.

Cover Inner : The inner artwork all appears perfect as best as I can tell.

Top Edge: Virtually unworn.

Bottom Edge: Virtually unworn.

Right Edge(s), and Type: Clean, sharp with no wear. Record enters via the top of the sleeve not the traditional right edge, this is solid and unworn.

Spine and Text: Solid and square with little wear up to the very last centimeter, text is perfect and unworn.

Corners: Barely any wear on the any corner.

Cover Summary: A superb all round example of this fragile early 70’s cover, one that could prove very difficult to find much better, if you can find this early version anyway. This strong item should please just about all collectors I would think.

Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: Mint- / EX+ A superb visual copy. Super clean, shiny, jet black and very solidly pressed, thicker than later pressings for sure. Hardly a significant mark to be seen, just the odd light surface trace or ultra faint hairline if viewed carefully, this copy looks

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This record plays like the day it was pressed MINT-.

Inner Sleeve: This copy also comes with the original inner sleeve paper bag in EX+ condition with slight yellowing.
