Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by The Rolling Stones, Their Satanic Majesties Request.
This was released by Decca Records in 1967 and has catalogue number TXL103. This is the 1st pressing with large Decca lettering, 3D gatefold sleeve and is Mono. Please check pictures on supersize for clarification.
Condition: The gatefold sleeve comes in fine condition with only light buffing to the very corners and one or two very discreet discolour marks, there is also one fingering indentation to the mouth. Spine & Edges Ex, Centre Ex, No tears, Bends, lamination Ex, Pasted on 3D plastic picture Ex. This sleeve is graded at Near Mint.
This comes with its original red and white inner sleeve which other than a little creasing is Mint ( no edge splits ).
Label one is clean other than some spider spindle trails seen under close examination. Side two has a name written in pen and some spider spindle trails but is otherwise clean. Pictured on supersize.
The vinyl on both sides retains its new shine, Under closer examination a few scratches can be seen. I have play tested this record and unfortunately on track 5 of side 1 there is a tiny circular scratch that causes my needle to jump. This means you miss approx 10 seconds of the record as when the needle is placed after it goes on to play fine again. There is no ticking leading up to the jump or after it, this is because the tiny scratch is circular and runs around one groove of the record. Other than that it plays fine with only one or two very quiet feckling / surface noises heard through out.
The vinyl for this can only be graded at Fair to VG+, No lessening in sound quality but does jump.
I suspect that this will be purchased for the sleeve and inner, the vinyl is not for the purist.
