The Rolling Stones No. 2 is the second UK album by The Rolling Stones released in 1965 following the massive success of their 1964 debut The Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones No. 2 followed its predecessor's tendency to largely feature R&B covers. However, it does contain three compositions from the still-developing Mick Jagger / Keith Richards song writing team.
Using the same cover shot as 12 X 5, the second US released album in October 1964, The Rolling Stones No. 2 track listing would largely be emulated on the upcoming US release of The Rolling Stones, Now!. While Eric Easton was co-credited as producer alongside Andrew Loog Oldham on The Rolling Stones' debut album, Oldham takes full production duties for The Rolling Stones No, 2, which was recorded sporadically in the UK and US during 1964.
A huge hit in the UK upon release, The Rolling Stones No. 2 spent 10 weeks at #1 in early 1965, becoming one of the year's biggest sellers in the United Kingdom.
ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:
Yes – brilliant! - TOP AUDIO sound quality throughout!
This rare record looks fantastic and sounds unplayed. Strong, undistorted sound free of any loud pops, clicks or distortion. Channels are clean and unstressed. The music jumps out, with incredible definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power.
This really is an unbelievable piece, with no hiss or loud pops or continuous unwanted sounds what so ever. This great record plays with TOP AUDIO audio - super bright sound clear of surface noise or sound interruptions. This RARE MONO press has strong undistorted audio, with Super clear sound and minimal background static. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity! I will give a detailed account below:
This great sounding MONO press starts with barely any static in run ins and intro to 'Everybody Needs Somebody To Love', a loud track that can still be plagued by crackle, hiss and static. Just great clear sound, the track plays superbly with not a single click or pop. The audio is superb. Again, the intro to 'Down Home Girl' sounds so clear and the whole of the first side really plays with superbly clear, immaculate audio throughout.
Barely any detectable surface sound. Absolutely no loud pops or clicks, and certainly not even a hint of distortion. 'You Can't Catch me' sounds superb, with crystal clear audio, and the raw audio effects can really be heard here. Its sounds like you are in the studio with the Stones. Very light occasional static and No loud pops or clicks. 'Time Is On My Side' comes in again with incredibly clear bright sound, I could detect no static and certainly no distortion. I can confirm this whole album plays without a hint of distortion what so ever. There is some very faint static between these two tracks, but not during the music. 'What A Shame' plays again with crystal clear audio. Incredible for an original pressing of the Stones first ever album. 'Grown Up Wrong' ends side 1. again with great clear sound. Barely any faint occasional static and no pops or clicks. Superb perfect audio.
'Down The Road Apiece' smoothes in side 2. with amazing clear audio. Barely any detectable surface sound or static! 'Under The Boardwalk' also plays superbly, still with no loud pops or clicks, and crystal clear sound. I'm very happy to say that the same goes for the intro to 'I Can't Be Satisfied'. There is barely any light static at the very start of the track, or any where else on this great pressing. So often heavily distorted and affected by clicks and hiss, it plays through with perfect clarity and superb sound. The long outro plays with just crystal clear audio. Even the stunning 'Pain In My Heart', such a difficult track to find with clear sound, pays superbly. An amazing audio performance. 'Off The Hook' and 'Suzie-Q' round off the album with crystal clear sound. No static to be heard at all. A really stunning performance with no pops or clicks, just stunning bright perfect sound.
Superb sound, every track has been tested and I could find no obvious sound blemishes at all. Free from static or surface sound this vinyl could not be bettered. Wonderful TOP audio, Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of sound. The tonal quality make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten.
An absolutely TOP all round example of this classic extremely rare and early vinyl.
Grades at NEAR MINT.
THE RECORD - Visual Grading
A superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings, this vinyl has only been played twice. Unbelievable to think this vinyl is over 40 years old! It looks and sounds unplayed!
The vinyl surfaces have only the faintest of handling marks, which can be seen under a very strong spot light. This great vinyl shows no groove wear what so ever, as proven though the great audio delivery.

We aim to describe all records as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description.

VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:
Highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and what we always aim for. We only sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance; super clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or other interference. Even with the cleanest pressing you will find occasional static or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and we advise a light clean between plays for optimal performance.
