presenting the fabulous "RONETTES, featuring VERONICA" A RARE FIRST ORIGINAL 1964 UK PLUM, LONDON RECORD LABEL VINYL LP CATALOGUE NUMBER, HA-U. 8212.
The Ronettes were an American girl group from New York City. One of the most popular groups from the 1960s, they placed nine songs on the Billboard Hot 100, five of which became Top 40 hits. The trio from Spanish Harlem, New York, consisted of lead singer Veronica Bennett (later known as Ronnie Spector), her older sister Estelle Bennett and their cousin Nedra Talley. Among the Ronettes' most famous songs are "Be My Baby", "Baby, I Love You", "(The Best Part of) Breakin' Up", and "Walking in the Rain", all of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Walking in the Rain" won a Grammy Award in 1965, and "Be My Baby" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
The LP is a first issue mono pressing and has the traditional Plum colour with Silver Print London record labels, with ‘Made in England’ label text on both labels.
Both record labels are in Excellent condition, bright and clean record labels, showing just a few signs of play to each label, all Silver printed text is clear and undamaged.
Side 1 matrix’s, ACPL-2674-1 B, Side 2, ACPL 2675-1 B.
Both sides of the heavy vinyl LP are in superb Excellent condition, high gloss vinyl with just a few insignificant hairlines.
The LP plays with a stunning sound quality from start to finish, without clicks or pops with just the occasional very mild background static, a great album full of great tracks.
The original picture sleeve is superb Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, the front panel is superb, clean and glossy with just LP storage indentation. Both edges, the spine edge and corners are perfect.
The back panel of the sleeve is very clean with just light handling signs to the opening edge, and a small stain near the catalogue number top right.
