A lot has happened for the Roots since ?uestlove and Black Thought first met at the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in 1987. Since adding Hub and Malik B., the eclectic hip-hop collective has steadily built a reputation for exhilarating live shows and genre-bending songwriting. When Phrenology was both certified Gold and nominated for a Grammy last year, it became clear that the Roots were approaching the highest level of recognition for their original music.



The Tipping Point, arriving in the wake of the record's first poppin' single, "Don't Say Nuthin'," is the Roots most compelling musical statement to date, pulled together with studio assistance from Devin the Dude, producer Scott Storch, Martin Luther, and comedian Dave Chappelle.
