Description
Released in the US on Herald Records (562) in 1961, this is the Australian release from the same year on W&G S 1246. The Rosettes were formed in the Bronx NY in 1961, by three girls from the same High School : Diane Christian lead vocals Gale Noble soprano Shirley Crier alto This was the only record that they released as "The Rosettes",two subsequent releases as Diane Christian and the Darlettes, "Just You/Wobble"(1962) and The Darlettes, "Here She Comes/Just You" (1963) ensued , after which the group went their separate ways. The A side is an up tempo girl group style number, while the B side is mid tempo with more doo wop style phrasing and vocal interaction The vinyl on both sides is in G+ condition with some scuffs and fine scratches, but no deep scratches or skips, there is some low level surface noise, and the odd low level pop and crackle, but the music is recorded at a high volume and masks this for the majority of both tracks. Both sides play loud and clear. There is a you tube clip with a picture of the US recording and a recording of both sides if you want to hear what these songs sound like. The label on the A side has some slight wear around the outside and there is a stamp impression, probably from the record store, the B side label is much the same as the A side, however there is a mark at the top next to the "45"where a label has been pulled off. This is a rare record in the US on the Herald label, even rarer in Australia on the W&G label. I only post within Australia.
