THE RUTS + RUTS DC - LIVE ON STAGE + NEW VINYL IMPORT DOUBLE ALBUM.
The Ruts were formed in August 1977, and on the 16th of September 77, the band made their short live debut, playing just three songs during a break in a set by Mr Softy at The Target, a pub in Northolt, Middlesex.
Friends Fox and Owen shared a mutual interest in music, having first met at School in the early 1970s.
Jennings met Ruffy in 1976 and became interested in punk after discussing the latter's Ramones' T-shirt of all things, meanwhile, Owen's interest in punk was piqued when he saw the Sex Pistols playing live.
The Ruts gathered a loyal fan base very quickly seemed to get signed even more quickly and were performing on Top of the Pops before the ink was even dry on their contract, two massive hits for Virgin and they seemed unstoppable, then sadly the drugs took over and the wheels fell off.
By 1980, singer Malcolm Owen was suffering with health problems, a combination of sore throats and an even bigger heroin addiction, despite having spent time living at his parents house, apparently free from heroin, Malcolm was found dead in the bathroom of his parents house in Hayes, from a heroin overdose on 14 July 1980 at the age of just 26.
Prophetically, the song "H-eyes", which was the B-side of their very first single "In a Rut", was a song against heroin use and the trap a lot of users fall into.....for Malcolm, tragically it was simply a case of too much to soon.

However tragedy aside, musically The Ruts shone bright and recorded some amazing punk music, this classic live album from the second phase re energised Ruts DC is a 'REAL' punk album that needs to be in any top punk collection, it's an album that captures the power and spirit of The original Ruts so don't miss it.
Great coloured double album, the sleeve is near mint and the vinyl is coloured so a surprise for the winner - grab this while you can it's a treat for any big Ruts fan / collector.
