1967 BELL US album  


Pity the Scaffold, forever in the shadow of Paul McCartney. They were a fun little group that was basically built around John McGough and Mike McGear (Mike McCartney). They'd been knocking around Liverpool for years and actually had a few hits in England with traditional sing-along type songs. That's what you have here. "Thank U Very Much" went to #4 in the UK in November of 1967, but when released in the US it must have confused a few Djs with it's fast banter as it only got enough play to get it to #69.

Brother Paul helped out in the studio but doesn't get a credit on the platter, but George Martin does as producer on a pair of tracks. Since it wasn't a hit here in the US, the American pressings of this album can be a bit of a challenge to find.
