Another ultra-uncommon later Red Bird. Here's some fascinating info about this group, courtesy of the Sun Ra Arkive website:
The Seven Of Us were a Rock N Roll band from the Bronx, New York, circa 1965-1967, featuring 2 future members of NRBQ, Joey Spampinato and Frank Gadler, along with Johnny DeRobertis, Brian Darby, Charlie Tuna, Jerry Gold, and Kenny Nemeroff. According to Johnny Spampinato, "Red Bird put out one single and there is an unreleased single DJ copy floating about somewhere."
Johnny S. is talking about the group's second 45 for Red Bird, "Jamboree," but this one precedes it in the catalog by 11 releases!
This disc offers two solid sides of Righteous Brothers-ish New York folk/rock, with the singers’ pipes overwhelmed by the solid, powerful backing tracks. Hear, here:
Disc is a very nice VG+++. Labels solid and clean. Vinyl is vibrant and dark; plays with a little intro crackle, but is clear and strong. It has a few isolated, light surface scuffs (most from its paper sleeve), and fingertip smoodges that don’t cause noise on the disc. Disc has had few (if any) plays.
