Description

Extremely rare stereo copy of UK band, The Shadows, USA 1964 release "The Shadows Know", Atlantic stereo SD8097.  The Shadows were well known as Cliff Richards' back up band but recorded a number of albums independently.  This record is the USA version of their 1964 UK release "Dance With the Shadows", but also includes their UK hit instrumental, "The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt" which is incorrectly spelled "Blunt" on the track list on the back of the jacket and the record label.  There are also two vocal tracks along with the ten instrumental tracks.

I purchased this record in 1964 and it is from my personal collection.  The LP has been played a number of times but is in EX-/VG+ condition; my name is written on the label on side two with magic marker; the jacket shows some wear on the top and bottom edges and has a 1/4 split at the lower right hand corner; the spine is fully intact; there is a strip of white tape covering my name on the top left corner of the back of the jacket along with a hand written catalog number (see photos).

I use the Goldmine rating system as follows:

“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.

“M” Mint - a near perfect, or unplayed record.

“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.

EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.

EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.

VG+ - There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
