MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Odeon Records Extended Play second Mono press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1966 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number DSOD-E 52228, with machine etched matrix numbers 7TCHI 20165 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side A and 7TCHI 20166 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side B, with grey/silver Odeon Records labels and push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to tell about this 4-Tracks EP is that it was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, in 1966, as you can see and confirm watching the matrix numbers. This EP was firstly released with a Picture Sleeve but this record is a second press, also released in 1966, so the cover was never present. The differences between first and second press is that in the first press the rights society, “BIEM”, is written at right side of the spindle hole, the year, “(P) 1966” is above the line at left side of the spindle hole and the name “The Shadows” at bottom is small. In second pressings of 1966 “BIEM” is at left side of the spindle hole, below the catalog number, the year is also below the line at left side of the spindle hole and the name of the band is bigger. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, except “Dakota” which doesn’t need translation, with full credits for songwriters and rights society. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE 4-TRACKS EP RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE, with Spanish-written song titles, a record almost never seen and not many times auctioned here in eBay!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Shadows!!!

This record doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs, hairlines and light scratches of all sizes, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in nice EX or EX+ condition both sides, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear, a very faint blemish in Side A and the names of some past owners written in both sides but hard to see at first sight because of the color of labels. The sound is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and light occasional clicks here and there, more evident in the song “The High And The Mighty”, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, maybe this record could not to be for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but this is still a record with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and with a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 54 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this EP!!! And don’t forget this MEGARARE and UNIQUE 4-tracks EP was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and it has Spanish-written song titles, it’s a record almost never seen and now you have the chance to get and own it!!! WHAT A FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

______________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
