This is the 1st album that The SHADOWS released, having backed Cliff Richard initially as 'The Drifters'.
There was an American soul doo wop band already with that name, and 'The Shadows' is memorable, and appropriate as Cliff's band.
It's perhaps unlikely that a group releasing mostly instrumental tunes would become as well known and actually have charting hit singles - but they were tremendously suvďéccessful and sold millions!
Here is their historic landmark self-titled debut album, normally found on a black Columbia lable after this issue - but this is in fact the dark GREEN with GOLD TEXT lable of 1961, and in incredible condition!
This landmark Rock and Roll album is full of great songs, and in my opinion is an essential album in music history.
In this really great shape, it won't need upgrading!
Condition;
The VINYL is NEAR MINT-, this sounds great and plays WONDERFULLY.
FULL TOP shine, I only see one short light line, otherwise spotless. ASTOUNDING!
The LABLES are NEAR MINT, Super Clean, no pen or stickers, or even spindle marks!
The LAMINATED solid card 'flipback' COVER is VG+ to ++, flat and clean, a nice example. A little bit of age wear, a light line visible. Shiny gloss laminate, no stickers.
