Very Close to New with Full Gloss. SIDE ONE is Pristine NM. SIDE TWO has short faint sleeve mark at edge, otherwise Pristine: NM-. Labels are immaculate both sides.

COVER is EX
Crisp, perfectly flat, snapping bright and spanking clean. GOLD PROMO STAMP on back, l.l. corner. Faint spot from former store sticker (no residue, pull, tear, wrinkle or paper remains - just a slightly darker yellow color) u.r. front corner. Otherwise only a couple of small edge creases, barely noticeable. No appreciable wear, no writing, soil or other marks. All edges straight, all corners sharp. Seams and spine 100% intact with no wear or splits.

A Masterpiece Of Modern Horror! Original Movie Soundtrack

Classic cult horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on the novel by Stephen King. The eerie classical music is almost as well known as the film itself as it helped shape and moderate the suspense that made this film such a classic.

The film features an original electronic score by Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind, plus highly evocative modernist 20th Century classical works by Krzysztof Penderecki, György Ligeti and Béla Bartók.

This soundtrack LP was taken off the market due to licensing issues and has never appeared as a legitimate compact disc release.

Carlos and Elkind had composed a great deal of music for the film, however, Kubrick decided to go with avant garde classical music from other sources, as he had done on previous occasions. Some of Carlos' unused music appears on her album Rediscovering Lost Scores, Vol. 2.

The stylistically modernist art-music chosen by Kubrick is similar - though more daring - to the repertoire he first explored in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
