This amazing album was mostly recorded at Lee Perry's Black Ark Studio in Washington Gardens in Kingston Jamaica and then revitalized by Prince Douglas Levy at Bullwackies in New York for Tad's Records. Earl Chin 'The Rootsman' had a major hand in this, The Slickers first album, which was also arranged by Augustus Pablo, Jeffrey Chung and Sylvan Morris. Pablo also plays keyboards & melodica. The Slickers, whose major claim to fame was their seminal rude bwoy anthem "Johnny Too Bad" featured in the film THE HARDER THEY COME, revisit their hit in a disco style with an extended Upsetter dub in BREAKTHROUGH. All of the A Side features the 'Disco Style' mixes that include major dub sections mixed by Scratch. All original tunes. Bubbling out of Babylon with a vengeance BREAKTHROUGH is another major achievement in sound judgement.
