THE SMALL FACES - OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE - ORIGINAL LILAC IMMEDIATE IMSP 012, INCREDIBLY RARE 1968 UK STEREO !

MATRIX'S side A : IMSP 012 - 1Y , side B : IMSP 012 - 2Y.

THIS MOD CLASSIC, it simply barely ever turns up and in its rare first state LILAC labels. Not to be confused with later PINK label pressings, these presses sound fantastic, simply stunning AUDIO.housed in its circular fold out sleeve. And ever more, still retains its original poly inner sleeve, which over the years got either discarded, or totally trashed! The fragile fold out sleeve, virtually impossible to keep intact, has included its important ' patents pending application no 21639/68' text at the bottom of the rear of the sleeve. Its totally stunning and all in near impossible to find condition!!

I have thouroughly played this vinyl..Twice! Its first press quality audio is stunning and makes re-living this masterpiece a totally fantastic experience. Side A is a mix of six varying style tracks, culminating in the classic 'lazy sunday' !! Side B is more concept in style, and tells the story of happiness stan.. Narrated by stanley unwin, "a second choice afer initially spike milligan turned down the offer" untwines a farytale style story. An amazing listen, though this album was a commercial success, reaching no1 in the charts. It very rarely turns up, and as i state, its usually suffering from repaired, even missing or trashed sections of this fantastic sleeve.. Now to the condition specifics..

VINYL - is graded VG : SIDE A visually under strong light shows a moderate amount of fine, light scuffs, sleeve removal scuffs. and one surface mark around an inch or so. This doesnt affect any playback, there are no jumps or skips, some light background static that you would expect but the audio is clear, clean. SIDE B visually less amount of scuffs, sleeve removal scuffs, no surface marks. Again, plays brilliantly, some slight static in the quieter parts, but audio is clean and clear.

LABELS - are graded VG : the matt finish lilac labels show spindle traces to both labels. Nothing to heavy and mainly confined to around the hole itself. Both labels are clean, writing, sticker free. Usually hard to keep clean, they show no obvious dirty marks, fingerprints or smudging. The black text, print stands out bold and totally legible. As they state ' for amazing results this record should be played at full volume' and they are not wrong about that!

SLEEVE - is graded EX : Near perfect! front side is clean, no tears or writing. No stickers or rubbing or creasing... The rear again, apart from the word 'stereo' and a name, in small biro (see pictures) is in same condition as the front. No rips or tears, creases or rubbing!
Sleeve lays perfectly flat, as ive tried to show in my scans, the edges of the circular sleeve suffer no nasty dings, or splitting. Merest of edge rubbing at the bottom but all else around the edges feel sharp and strong. upon unfolding the sleeve again, just as like the front. All panels are clean, tear, writing, sticker or rubbing free.. No creasing either! (the folding spine, so fragile and commonly split or even repaired) is in totally 100% undamaged condition! Amazing, opens perfectly well and all intact. A credit to its original owner who obviously cherished it enough to keep it protected.. Shame the small biro writing on the rear, prevents this being graded M- but it detracts not from its amazing condition!!

INNER SLEEVE - is graded GOOD still fully intact, just has tears to the opening, probably due to when it was first ever removed, wouldnt you have been excited to get it on the turntable? !! slight opening forming at the bottom, but all other edges are intact or rip free! Amazing its still around, as these often became annoying to fit into the sleeve, and got usually discarded..

SUMMARY : A FANTASTIC EXAMPLE of this RARE classic album, on their rare LILAC labels. A magnificent sounding vinyl in its stereo recording, even though its been played, certainly hasnt been abused. Together with its near immaculate OUTSTANDING sleeve make this incredibly hard to find in this condition.. How long before or even if another one appears.. They dont look quite the same with missing, or repaired pannels!! Own a true classic original piece of late 60s music history...
