The third full-length album from The Smithereens, 11, boasts a title that refers to the classic 1960 Frank Sinatra film ‘Ocean's Eleven’. The album continues the solid, tough-pop perfection of their first two albums. Producer Ed Stasium makes the most of the dark and mysterious undercurrents of Pat DiNizio’s songs and Jim Babjak’s guitar — and gives the band a solid, professional sound. The Smithereens sound rock-solid here.

Notes: Minimal surface noise. A good cleaning is all this one needs.

LABEL GRADE: VG+
Notes: Neither side has ring wear, writing, spindle wear, or tape. Standard blue/white Capitol oval logo with rainbow circle on black, red Enigma artwork logo over black. Text is silver on black. 

SLEEVE GRADE: VG
Notes: Original glossy white paper. No writing, no tape, no rips, a few crinkles. Complete lyrics (black text) on one side; blue duo-tone band photo, liner notes on the other. Has three-inch split at bottom center.

JACKET GRADE: VG+
Notes: No visible ring wear, no splits, no marks, no stains, no writing, no tape. Edges, corners, and spine look good. (See my original scan.)

Note: I haven't cleaned this 30-year-old vinyl record because everybody seems to prefer their own methods. I'll leave the cleaning up to the buyer. Also, I'm not a professional vinyl seller or buyer. This comes from my own collection. Bought at The Record Exchange, downtown Blacksburg VA.
