A COLLECTION OF SMITHS 12" VINYL SINGLES (9), PLUS ONE SANDIE SHAW AND ONE MORRISSEY SINGLE (11 12" singles in TOTAL)
I've finally decided its time to downsize my vinyl collection to a more manageable level.  A collection that I've accumulated since the 80's, to mainly concentrate on my vinyl albums going forwards.
This is my own personal collection of Smiths 12" vinyl singles bought by me at the time, a band who still remain a favourite to this day, 40 years later.  The records are all 100% original, just as I bought them as they were released.
I was lucky enough to see them twice at the time, when they were in their pomp - they were magnificent.  
I'm not an expert on grading records and appreciate that there does seem to be a number of grading systems out there that dealers use, but I've tried to describe the condition of both the vinyl and sleeves fully below.  I would have liked to have shown close up's of each record and sleeve individually, but Ebay only allows 24 photo's and I haven't the time nor the energy to list each record individually in its own sale.
If anyone would like a close up of any individual record or more detailed photo's, I'm happy to oblige, so contact me via Ebay and I will provide.  I'm not trying to hide anything here, and actually I was always a fairly careful owner of all my records.
Most of these singles haven't been played for over 30 years, until just recently when I gave them a quality control listen.  I must admit, they caused a break out of heavy reminiscence!!  Most are still in very good condition (bar one - detailed below) and I'm happy to sell them on to someone who loves the Smiths (as a collector or a listener).
The bulk of the records are on Rough Trade, so I've listed them below in RTT order.  I'm not sure that this was the chronological order - the Sandie Shaw record was after This Charming Man I'm sure (or is my memory playing tricks!!).  Certainly the Morrissey record was 1989 and not on Rough Trade - so that definitely was last!!  
Researching other adverts for pricing and clues, there seems to be a need to know the matrix pressing on the record, so I've added that where I can see it, and any other individual characteristics of note.

The vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  Dare I say it, I always preferred Sandie's version of 'I don't owe you anything' to the original!!  Marr's arrangements on all these tracks is excellent. The Outer Cover has some slight signs of wear on the edges, but nothing significant or distracting and maybe a hint of yellowing.  The inside of the cover has some yellowing along the inner edges but nothing too awful. The original inner paper slip sleeve has some evidence of yellowing too.

The original inner paper slip sleeve has evidence of yellowing too.

Matrix A1/B1 - This is the 'Dome and Stars' Version
Again the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides. I bought this originally for the Instrumental B Side which I really liked (and still do). 
The Outer Cover has some slight signs of wear on the edges, but nothing significant or distracting.  There is also evidence a bit of yellowing around the upper and right edges (where the record comes out).  Mainly due to how I stored them in the shelf I suspect.   Also it does have stickers on the front - one for Virgin Records £1.49 and one stating its the US Mix £1.49 RRP.  I didn't like to remove these as it would invariably damage the sleeve after all this time.  Its up to you to decide whether this adds or detracts from its authenticity or appeal.  The inside of the cover has some yellowing along the inner edges but nothing significant. The original inner paper slip sleeve has some evidence of yellowing too.
I understand that the NY mix is a fairly rare Smiths record anyway, but made rarer still by having the Rough Trade Logo with the White House Dome and Stars on it (I assume it is the White House??).

Once More the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  Back to The Old House was always one of my favourites at the time - this is a lovely version, showing off Marr's guitar playing at its subtle best.
Again the Outer Cover has some slight signs of wear on the edges, but nothing significant or distracting.  There is also evidence a bit of yellowing around the upper and right edges (where the record comes out).  Mainly due to how I stored them in the shelf I suspect. A scuff mark on the back of the sleeve too near the 'Produced by John Porter' wording.  The inside of the cover has some yellowing along the inner edges but nothing significant. The original inner paper slip sleeve has some evidence of yellowing too.
Some copies have Morrissey on the front, but I think this was the original with Terence Stamp.  From memory there was some issue with using Stamps image on the cover, so it was changed on later copies.

Once More the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  A very strong B Side in my opinion.  The A side song is the one that the non believers always cited as evidence that the Smiths were miserabilist - oh how little they knew!!

This original sleeve with the Uncredited man. He was replaced with a cover with Billie Whitelaw on later pressings (which I preferred ironically, but I already had the record by then!!).  Not sure of the reason for the change.

I cannot remember what befell this record, but there is a small hole (about 1 cm) through the back of the outer sleeve (on the right of THE BOY WITH), through the orange inner sleeve and onto the record itself.  I was hoping it would play through it, but sadly after about 1 minute into the A Side there are a few clicks and then a couple of minor jumps. I'm only including this record, rather than scrapping it, because of the strong B Side, which again plays perfectly.
Again the Outer Cover has some tiny signs of wear on the edges and in the bottom corner, and the aforementioned hole in the back, but nothing too significant or distracting.  There is also tiny bit of yellowing around the upper and right edges (where the record comes out).  Mainly due to how I stored them in the shelf I suspect. The inside slip cover is a sturdy orange and has no flaws aside from the hole!!

Happily the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  The B Side contains the non Morrissey / Marr 'Golden Lights' by Twinkle, which always seemed an odd choice.  Also has snatches of Kirsty MacColl singing vocals.
The Outer Cover is in pretty good condition with only very tiny signs of dirt along the edges.  The pink inner slip sleeve pretty good condition too.  The inside of the outer cover has some slight yellowing along the inner edge but nothing significant.

Once more the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  With hindsight, not one of their strongest singles IMHO but each to his own.
The Outer Cover has a tiny tear along the top edge which shows the cardboard underneath (about 1.5 cm) but nothing too significant or distracting.  There is also tiny bit of yellowing around the upper and right edges (where the record comes out) and on the back cover.  Mainly due to how I stored them in the shelf I suspect. The inside of the outer cover has some yellowing along the inner edges but nothing significant. The original inner pink slip sleeve is in pretty good condition.

Once more the vinyl itself is in excellent condition and plays beautifully on both sides.  Sadly, for the Smiths, a last hurrah before it all fell apart.
The Outer Cover has very minor scuffing on the back cover due to the blackness of the artwork.  The inside of the outer cover has some tiny yellowing along the inner edges but nothing significant. The original inner black slip sleeve is in pretty good condition only a few corner folds in evidence.

The Outer Cover has very minor scuffing on the back cover due to the blackness of the artwork.  The inside of the outer cover has some tiny yellowing along the inner edges but nothing significant. The original inner black slip sleeve is in pretty good condition only a few corner folds in evidence.
