DESCRIPTION
Released in 1985, Meat Is Murder is The Smiths’ second studio album and a defining statement of their sound, politics, and artistic direction. Darker and more confrontational than their debut, the album marked a shift toward heavier arrangements and sharper lyrical themes while retaining the melodic strength that set the band apart.
