THE SMITHS
'Strangeways, Here We Come' Lp
Original Near Mint 1987 UK Lp Housed In An Embossed Text Cover And Complete With Lyric/Photo Inner Sleeve.
Recorded as the relationship between Morrissey and Johnny Marr was beginning to splinter,Strangeways, Here We Come is the most carefully considered and elaborately produced album in the group's catalog. Though it aspires greatly to better The Queen Is Dead, it falls just short of its goals. With producer Stephen Street, the Smiths created a subtly shaded and skilled album, one boasting a fuller production than before. Morrissey and Marr also labored hard over the songs, working to expand the Smiths' sound within their very real boundaries. For the most part, they succeed. "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish," "Girlfriend in a Coma," "Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before," and "I Won't Share You" are classics, while "A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours," "Death of a Disco Dancer," and "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" aren't far behind.
The Lp Was Released On The ‘Rough Trade’ Label (Rough 106) And Comes To Ebay In Near Mint Condition (Vinyl, Cover, Inner Sleeve).
Mint: The record itself is in Brand New condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items (such as lyric sheets, booklets, posters etc) are in perfect condition.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there s very little lessening in Sound Quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good+: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occassional light scratch . Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items (without major defect) is acceptable.
Postage & Packaging Details
I do combined shipping so if you win more than one item it will work out a lot cheaper on the postage if i send them in the same mailer.
All records are sent securely packaged in purpose made mailers with 2 cardboard stiffeners. I always remove the record from the outer sleeve (to avoid seam split whilst in transit) and then insert the record and sleeve into a brand new polythene sleeve.
