This genuine first press is stunning in every way and plays with Mint audio from beginning to end.  I suspect this vinyl has never been played.

This vinyl looks 'as new' and I honestly believe it has never been played.  It is visually stunning and there are only a couple of mega faint sleeve removal hairlines on each side, they are very difficult to spot.  What vinyl has no hairlines?  Even a Mint new one just placed into a cover can have them.  There are no scratches or markings anywhere and it retains an immaculate glossy sheen that is quite simply 'shop new'.  It is absolutely incredible!  Never have I seen a genuine first pressing of this classic looking as 'beautiful' as this one.  There is no spindle wear re-affirming my belief that this was purchased back in '86 just to be added to a collection and not to be played.  It comes complete with a superb gatefold and inner also.  It would be nigh on impossible to find a better genuine first pressing.  Wow!

Play grading  

Having played every second of this album I can confirm it plays with impeccable Mint audio.  I generally reserve a Mint grading for sealed LPs only but the clarity and depth displayed here infinitely deserves the highest grading possible.  S1 has no lead in static and there is not one single click or pop and there is no hint of static or crackle anywhere.  The audio is just immaculate and the long fade out on 'Never Had No One Ever' is a prime example of this with not even a dust tick let alone anything else.  Every intro and fade out plays perfectly and there is no interference of any kind to be heard on S1.  What an absolute joy to listen to.

S2 plays in exactly the same way with superb sonic quality from start to finish.  The classic 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' has audio of Mint quality as does every track on this side.  The warmth and depth on offer here is so rare to find on this iconic album as quite rightly they have been played a fair amount.  Not this one!  As per S1 there is complete silence between every track and there is no 'background' to be heard.  I can't separate one track from another for sheer stunning quality, I am just astounded by the fantastic audio on this genuine first pressing.

In summary the audio here is of the highest standard possible and is a final upgrade archive first pressing without doubt.  It beats all recent issues in my opinion in terms of depth and clarity of sound.  I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint and the fact that it is housed within an immaculate gatefold and inner makes it all the more collectable.

The Gatefold

This gatefold many would say is in perfect condition.  It still has a lovely glossy finish and the edges and wide spine hare in superlative condition and indeed the opening edge has no handling wear at all.  The only thing that keeps it from being 100% Mint is a tiny crease at the bottom of the spine and an almost imperceptible amount of rubbing on the right hand corners.  So minor and is nothing to be concerned about whatsoever.  It is the cleanest one I have ever seen and the front and back covers and the inside of the gatefold are in immaculate shape.  A stunning example.

Inner sleeve

The glossy inner is in perfect condition with no wear to be seen.  There is no creasing, rubbing or marking anywhere.

The labels

They have no marking/writing and as stated there is no spindle wear at all.  The run out grooves are also spotlessly clean.
