THE SMITHS ~ WILLIAM, IT WAS REALLY NOTHING 12" Single.

Original 1987 U.K. pressing released on the Rough Trade Records label RTT 166.

Description :

Rare and hard to find classic Smiths 12" single featuring the original Billie Whitelaw sleeve.

The song is believed to have been written about Billy Mackenzie, lead singer of The Associates, with whom Morrissey was rumoured to be romantically linked. Housed in a mauve-tinted picture sleeve featuring Billie Whitelaw as Lottie from the 1968 movie 'Charlie Bubbles', directed by Albert Finney. This issue is becoming increasingly hard to find and is much rarer than the original 1984 issue RTT 166.

Condition ~ Vinyl :

The vinyl is in stunning NEAR MINT condition. Doesn't look as though it's ever been played.

Condition ~ Sleeve :

The sleeve is in NEAR MINT condition with just the faintest crease in the bottom left corner. No writing, splits or tears. 

Condition ~ Inner Sleeve :

The light blue inner sleeve is in NEAR MINT condition. No splits.

Condition ~ Labels :

Both labels are virtually perfect.
