12" BLACK VINYL LP
Up for auction here is an original UK issue of ROBYN HITCHCOCK's original band, THE SOFT BOYS 1983 LP, INVISIBLE HITS.
The album is in its original cover and is in excellent condition.
The cover has some edge wear and little curved mark near the top of the sleeve (back & front) where the record inside has rubbed against the sleeve from storage in a large collection (always remember children, a plastic outer sleeve can really protect your valuable vinyl!!!), but the vinyl itself is in amazing condition!
It also has one of the 'LIVE AT THE PORTLAND ARMS' order form inserts (for the princely sum of £2.50!!) in mint condition!
The Soft Boys were an English rock band led by Robyn Hitchcock who became part of the neo-psychedelia scene.
Formed in 1976 in Cambridge, England (as Dennis and the Experts) with Robyn Hitchcock (guitar), Rob Lamb (guitar), Andy Metcalfe (bass) and Morris Windsor (drums). Alan Davies replaced Lamb after only four gigs, in late '76, and Kimberley Rew eventually replaced Davies. Matthew Seligman replaced Metcalfe in 1979.
The band broke up in 1981 after releasing the seminal LP Underwater Moonlight. Rew going on to form the more mainstream group Katrina and the Waves, while Hitchcock went on to a prolific career with a similar style to The Soft Boys, forming Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians in 1984 with fellow Windsor and Metcalfe, who went on to tour and record for ten years. They were briefly joined by Rew and Seligman in a re-formed Soft Boys for a UK tour in 1994 to mark the release of a box set of their work, and then reformed again in 2001 without Metcalfe for the 20th anniversary of Underwater Moonlight and the release of a new album, Nextdoorland, in 2002.
They finally disbanded in 2003.
This would definitely make an incredible addition to your record collection!
