THE SONICS This Broken Heart/You Made Me Cry HARVARD 801 rare doowop r&b 45 1959 Shipping Info Description Rare vintage 45: THE SONICS (Featuring Donald Sheffield) - THIS BROKEN HEART b/w YOU MADE ME CRY - the original first pressing 1959 release on Harvard Records 801 (red label with flag logo).
Rare original of the famed New Jersey doo-wop group, with two songs written by second tenor William Franklin. "This Broken Heart" is a beautifully-sung doo-wop tune (the song was later covered by Funkadelic on their "Cosmic Slop" album), while "You Made Me Cry" is an upbeat dance number, with a great sax solo, electric guitar, and smooth vocals.
Condition: VG (vinyl has minor-to-moderate scuffing and a few short light scratches, a couple of which I can just barely feel with a thumbnail - plays through and sounds VG+ with some minor background; one label has a scratch, the other has a small ink smudge, and both labels have some light rubbing).
