THE SPECTRES - 1966 RELEASE
HURDY GURDY MAN b/w LATICIA
EXTRA RARE GERMAN COPY OF AN ALREADY RARE RECORD!
Before STATUS QUO were Status Quo, they were Traffic Jam and before that they were The Spectres.
This is their second ever record release.
Here we have a German copy of this release. On Pye, HT 300048 P. (It was released on Piccadilly in the UK)
Hurdy Gurdy Man is NOT the same song as the one by Donovan! It was the first release penned by a band member (Alan Lancaster). The B side is penned by Alan Lancaster and Rick Parfitt under a psuedonym as he was not a band member at the time.
It is not in perfect condition. It has several very light marks and scratches. However it plays through both sides without problem and the marks are only just audible at the beginning before the music starts and do not detract from the listening pleasure.
This record is without a centre, as was typical of overseas releases.
If this interests you at all, now is your chance. This release is almost never seen on sale, in fact I cannot find it on sale anywhere on the internet!
