Description
THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP - THEIR FIRST LP
Barely played, "near mint" condition throughout, and each band member's autograph beautifully displayed on the reverse side of the iconic outer sleeve. Gorgeous!
Year/Label : UK Fontana 1965
Label number : TL 5242
Matrix numbers : 687343 1L//1 420 / 687343 2L//1 420
Stampers : 1 1 1 0 / 1 1 1 1
Everything about this LP is "near mint" (NM)! Gleaming, weighty, completely flat and barely played, unmarked and earliest 1965 UK press vinyl which has been played just a few times at most (looks unplayed), even the labels are pristine with no hint of even a single spindle trail, and the MONO sound quality is simply exquisite with not a click or nano-second of background crackle in sight. The outer cover/sleeve (1st press front-side laminated only) is also near mint with rigid unscuffed edges, perfectly defined right angled corners, and the reverse side 1st press "paste-on" remains completely unblemished and contains beautifully laid out and clear original autographs of the original four Spencer Davis band members. It even comes with the original plain white poly-lined "MADE IN ENGLAND inner sleeve with some mild corner creasing only. A word about the autographs : I am not in a position to fully authenticate them but I have inherited a number of records from a deceased gentleman which have been meticulously maintained and I have it on good authority that the owner was a devout Spencer Davis and Pretty Things fan and attended a number of their concerts in the 60's, from one of which I must assume that he gleaned these autographs. And if you compare the autographs themselves to other authenticated autographs from the same band members there is a definite match. The record, the cover, the autographs...remarkable!
A brilliant 1960's antiquity, in wonderful condition, and worthy of gracing any serious vinyl collection!
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for;
for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,
and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
