THE VALLEY OF TEMPLES by THE SPINS / WAKE UP by BLACK DEATH ... 7-inch, 45rpm single. Original Italian pressing on the DERBY label (DBR 10101), from 1978. Obscure and very cool space disco rarity. THE VALLEY OF TEMPLES theme is pure Italo deviance and a superb example of the genre. Spaced-out production with stoned jazz funk guitars / obsessive bassline / boom bap drums and cosmic synth with dub and balearic disco influences. Imagine Tom Tom Club doing Chain Reaction's Hogtied but with that late '70s Italian hippie sound of the period. Shades of Giordano's Don't Be Cool Library theme in there too. Great for DJs. Blissful, psychedelic keyboards and trance-inducing groove with lots of loops and samples. Rare 45!!!

Vinyl is closer to shiny, M- condition overall with a few light scuffs and hairlines. A few faded old cloudy streak marks. Some background surface noises but all copies seem to have this. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with light wear. Creasing and dirt marks from storage (mostly to back sleeve). Rare 45!!!
