THE SPLIT LEVEL "SAME" (U.S.DOT)1968 SEALED STKR ON CVR Virtually left off all list books of psychedelic pop, the glorious Split Level create all the nourishment your bubblegum mind is hungry for. The group itself looks like 3 bank clerks and one hot mama kindergarten teacher, yet they somehow create strange vocal arrangements like the refrain to "YOU CAN'T GO". This track really stands out like a sore thumb. Fusing the sounds of THE BEACH BOYS, FREE DESIGN, and SALT WATER TAFFY into one thick potion.
Drat! This release came out on Dot Records where they did no promotion and basically served as a company that issued soundtracks like LOVE STORY and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. Would have been nice to hear what might have come down the line from these four musicans.
