Description
This copy of [Iggy Pop and] the Stooges 1st LP evidently is somewhat rare in that the two sides of the disc reference two different pressings (...but no, they didn't press one side and then send it to the other location for the other side ;-) The "mastering" or "lacquer cutting" was performed by Sterling Sound. I will provide all the details in a "PRESSING NOTE", below.
This is a great album, with the seminal songs "No Fun", "1969", and my favorite, "I Wanna Be You Dog".
Condition-wise, this 1969 album does have some light scratches and rubbings, but they do not seem to affect play. The cover is in solid shape, but does have some "ring wear", where the cover rubbed against others before I finally got some poly bags to protect my collection. If it interests you, the original Elektra inner sleeve seems to be in almost perfect condition with only a partial split in the middle of the bottom seam and a smaller split in the center of one side. I am not an expert at record grading, so I think my calling it "Good Plus" overall seems fair for this listing, although I think it may deserve better.
Enjoy! ____________________________________________________________ PRESSING NOTE [Information from Discogs]:
