THE STRANGLERS - THE RAVEN - UK ISSUE INCLUDING BANNED LYRIC INNER - A1 / B1 PRESSING.
Fantastic fourth album from one of the most creative and menacing punk band's of all time.
The Stranglers just didn't care, in true punk style they crashed from late 70's punk rock into the 80's new romantic scene and beyond, never compromising and ever changing while retaining their devoted fan base.
They upset the moral majority with their Duchess video, graced top of the pops more times than I care to remember and just kept on going.
The Raven was always a fan favourite and the songs have stood the test of time very well, this excellent first A1 / B1 pressing features the sort after banned lyric inner bag.
Another Stranglers collectors item was created when the band were forced to remove an image of Jon Bjelke-Petersen from the inner sleeve artwork, Peterson a prominent Australian politician was the subject of the bands scathing jab at the Aussies in 'Nuclear Device'.
This album captures the electric energy of the original band and features some unique, eclectic and different but essential recordings performed by the classic lineup.
The sleeve itself is in excellent condition for its age with some very minor storage wear, the vinyl looks in great condition just a couple of light surface marks / hairlines .
A decent conditioned A1 / B1 copy of a must have Stranglers collectors item for any serious Stranglers / Punk rock collector.
