Description

THE SUNSETS “The Hot Generation” RARE 1967 Aussie 7” garage surf rock punk pre-TAMAM SHUD

The Sunsets – The Hot Generation 7” (orig. Australia Festival MONO FK-1818)

Release date: August 1967.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the fifth (and final) 7” single by Newcastle - AUSTRALIAN group, THE SUNSETS.  This is the group that evolved into TAMAM SHUD.  Both sides of this 45 were written by lead vocalist/guitarist LINDSAY BJERRE, and were featured in the AUSSIE SURF FILM SOUNDTRACK “The Hot Generation”.  The A-side of this 45 could very well be one of the FINEST AUSSIE 1960’s SURF “BEAT GENERATION” TRACKS EVER COMMITTED TO VINYL!  Be sure to check out the YouTube link below.

GRADING (also refer photos)

Record:

visual: VG beautiful glossy sheen—insignificant hairlines & few very light surface scuffs, light soiling which requires a professional record cleaning fluid—I need to re-stock! (If not for soiling, grading is: side 1: VG++, side 2: VG+) (seen under strong light).

audible: sounds superb despite some insignificant underlying static, few sound blemishes at very beginning of side 2 only (side 1: EX, side 2: VG++).  DEFINITELY NO JUMPS OR SKIPS - A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!

labels: HARDLY ANY SPINDLE WEAR (side 1), light spindle wear (side 2).

sleeve: original generic chequered “Festival” sleeve.
