Description
This is a gorgeous copy of the Capitol T-2113 LP by the Super Stocks, "Surf Route 101." It comes with the bonus 45 (Mr. Gasser and the Weirdos, "Doin' the Surfink" b/w "Finksville U.S.A."). This is a mono recording. Arranged and conducted by Gary Usher. Produced by Jim Economides. Featuring the musical talents of such greats as Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell, Steve Douglas, Carol Kaye, Leon Russell--basically the whole Wrecking Crew. Other records in this series include "Summer Surf" by Dick Dale (Capitol T-2111) with a bonus 45 by Jerry Cole and His Spacemen, "Surf Fink" by Mr. Gasser & the Weirdos (Capitol T-2114) with a bonus 45 by the Super Stocks, and "Surf Age" by Jerry Cole (Capitol T-2112) with a bonus 45 by Dick Dale. This particular record, "Surf Route 101" by The Super Stocks, is one of the more prized in the series.
The bonus 45 is a rare label error copy. The label reads "The Wierdos" instead of "The Weirdos." Subsequent pressings have the correct spelling.
