MOTOWN COLLECTORS - ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE ISSUES - ALWAYS HARD TO COME BY.
Here's a very nice original 1965 USA first issue picture sleeve copy of this timeless classic from THE SUPREMES with "NOTHING BUT HEARTACHES" and backed with "HE HOLDS HIS OWN" on the US MOTOWN imprint # 1080.
Pricing has always been determined by the condition of the sleeve rather than the record itself and finding a copy with a decent matching picture sleeve has always been a challenge as many have become soiled and dog-eared over time with heavy creasing, rips, written annotations, price stickers, coffee staining as well as the inevitable deletion drill hole and ring wear. On a scale of 1 through 10 with "ten" being mint, I would rate this sleeve as a "7" with moderate but noticeable ring wear, light creasing with a tiny edge split but with no rips whatsoever, no deletion drill hole, no written annotations and just a feint trace of price sticker removal on the front top right hand corner.
The disc itself plays superbly throughout with top audible quality and remains in mint minus condition with barely any hint of crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and with the lightest of sleeve rubs. The labels are spotlessly clean on both sides and not spoiled by a deletion drill hole and with little sign of any ring wear making this a top copy for the DJ or collector (see picture scans).
