Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

An outstanding 'ARCHIVED' example of this very collectable classic LP.

THE VINYL   EX+     PLAYS SUPERB

As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing with the Laminated front sleeve and STAMPED MATRIX NUMBERS.

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We rarely see copies of this LP at all, let alone like this.

The centre hole shows a couple of tiny light spindle skate lines only, the holes remain tight with no wear.

Under a very bright light you can see there are a few tiny light whisp lines.

There is one little mark on 'Poppa Joe' which on first glance looks like a scratch..HOWEVER....This does not sound at all, and is nothing to worry about.

The whole vinyl is superb and has the thick silky finish that  RCA LPs had in the early 70s.. No jumps hisses or unwanted noise..The whole sound is huge and rich and exactly how you want to listen to this spectacular recording.

And bearing in mind this LP was 'trashed' by teenagers and Glam Rock fans back in the day on their cheap dansette record players it is amazing any copies have survived anywhere near this condition..so therefore we feel, this makes this particular release even more special when a good copy surfaces..so few rarely od (as in all SWEET LPs to be honest! good ones are scarce!)

THE LABELS   EX+    Both are superb condition, original GLOSS ORANGE 'WAXY' labels with no damage or writing.

THE SLEEVE     EX  

Correct LAMINATED front first issued ROBERT STACE earliest sleeve  -with no tab edges

This whole sleeve is in SUPER condition considering - with only light signs of wear 

The edges have only the feintest traces of rub, and the tips also have the tiniest rub, all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition

The lamination is gleaming like a mirror and there is no bubbling  down the edge -Just a couple of little spider lines over the edges & spine. The laminate is in superb condition

The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with barely a hint of handling -the usual fluff build up where the laminate stops way short of the edge.

The spine edge is nice, a few squash points and a few luight laminate cracks. all legends are readable,quite a few tiny spider lines over the edge

The rear 'matt finish' back sleeve is normally where you'll find a white grubby colour..many have writing and damage- This one has some light ring wear and a few tiny thumb creases on the edge- Normally we would not list a sleeve with any ring wear, but as this sleeve is so hard to find in even VG condition, this is still a very attractive sleeve to go for.

Yes, there is a full laminated version, but it is actually a later pressing! the first sleeve is this one, and confirmed by those 'stamped matrix' numbers- super rare
