Expanded 3rd Edition. 1998. Softcover 81/4" x 113/4". 724 pages. Fine condition (see photo). Rare and out of print. This book is the most comprehensive and detailed encyclopaedia ever written on British rock and pop between 1963-76. It includes full discographies for almost all entries as well as personnel details, biographical information, in most cases some comment about the music, compilation listings and an up-to-date rarity scale. A wide range of musical genres are covered: mainstream rock and pop, Merseybeat, R&B, folk, folk-rock, jazz-rock, blues-rock, psychedelia, freakbeat, glam-rock, progressive rock, including many artists who didn't attract the publicity they deserved at the time and many who've never appeared in music encyclopaedias before. It contains over 2,800 entries in 600 pages and is profusely illustrated, including 12 pages of colour. Plus a new 123 page profusely illustrated update section with over 1,000 new entries and/or updates; a vastly expanded compilation section and a revised index to include details of the new entries in the Third Edition.
