STILL SEALED ALBUM
Remember the joke in the Rutles about how they discovered ‘tea’ and it was all psychedelic after that. Well, this album falls into that in-joke quite naturally, and it all happened in June of 1968.
The Tea Company only cut one album and this is it. They are quite natural with their Beatles-inspired brand of psychedelic music, and at times bits here sounds like outtakes from either Strawberry Fields or XTC’s Dukes of Stratosphere.
Except for one cover, these are all originals and you can get a sip of what they sound like on the little sample below – taken from another copy of the LP – this one for sale is ORIGINAL – UNOPENED MINT.
The group were from Queens and played the tri-state area, first as the Naturals, then as the Lip-Tin Tea Company.
