GRADING Of DISC RECORDS
Mint (M) = Record is Sealed in manufacturers packaging…Usually dealers stock.
Near Mint/Excellent (NM or E) = Record has original shine. May have a couple of very light scratches, rubs or hairlines. Possibly un-played…Sound quality is unaffected.
Very Good Plus (VG+) = Record has original shine, light scratches, hairlines, rubs or needle tracks…Sound quality still excellent. Has had very good care…Very Collectable.
Very Good (VG) = Average playable record, may have grayness in the grooves, has scratches and rubs. Noise or pops at quiet passages and between tracks…Still Collectable.
Very Good Minus (VG-) = Record has heavy scratches, faults and rubs. Has been played often. Has noticeable surface noise, but will play through without skipping.
GOOD (G) = Not really good. Major faults. Noise can exceed the music, has very heavy pops and crackles. Used only for a rare or scarce records.
POOR (P) = Filler only. Sold “as is” with no refund. Only the most rare of records would be sold in this condition.
AN ADDITIONAL Plus (+) OR Minus (-) is used for more detailed accuracy.
Some records may have Two Grades to reflect the condition of each side – if different. Example: A side/ B side = E / VG+

Mint (M) = Sealed

Very Good Plus (VG+) = Minor Wear, Small Scuffs or Marring.
Very Good (VG) = Edge Wear, Small Splits, Scrapes or Record Ring.
Very Good Minus (VG-) = Heavy Wear, Large Splits, Warped, Written On, Faded or Taped.
Good (G) = Not Really, All The Above.
Poor (P) = Totally Illegible or Non Existent.
I always try to give accurate descriptions in my auctions. The describing or classifying of items is very subjective…if I've missed something it is totally unintentional. Any problem will be resolved promptly.
