Label & single in MINT condition never been played.

Sleeve is near mint as it has a a very slight brown water stain on less then 5% of the sleeve.

This is a must for any collector out there.

Below you find some more info about this super rare Planet label that was manufactured and distibuted by Philips Record Ltd. This is the only single by the thoughts I have ever seen.

The Planet record label was innovative in being an independent record label in the 1960s. Nowadays, such a move is commonplace. Planet was established by the producer Shel Talmy who had already made his name producing hits for the likes of the Who and the Kinks. Planet had a life of just one year but during that time issued 22 singles and two albums. A lack of commercial success eluded Planet despite his credentials as a producer.

It was suggested that Talmy was not a good A&R man. Maybe his approach was imply different. Dave Helling was a busker who Talmy approached on the street. Despite an unusual style, Helling's sole single for Planet was not successful.

The stars of the Planet label were the Creation who released two storming singles that just about made the UK charts. Making Time is a Mod classic while Painter Man was later covered by Boney M! The b-side of the latter, Biff Bang Pow, is notable for its similarity to My Generation, not least for the wonderful and distinctive piano of ace session player Nicky Hopkins. This is a great track even if it is a bit derivative. Nevertheless, the two a-sides are highly original, exciting and ground-breaking with Eddie Phillips taking a violin bow to his guitar, well before Jimmy Page or the Nice's Lee Jackson. Making Time is mistakenly credited to future Nice manager and Charisma records boss Tony Stratton-Smith when it is, in fact, a Pickett-Phillips original.

The Who connection continues with the Untamed's cover of Pete Townshend's It's Not True. This is an excellent and powerful version of the track complete with Nicky Hopkins piano. While this is certainly a good track it may have suffered from comparisons with the original. However, as Lindsay Muir's Untamed they returned with Daddy Longlegs.

The Thoughts have two pieces of catchy pop in All Night Stand, written by Ray Davis, and Memory of Your Love.

So as you can see this a mege rare single and you won't find an other just as nice as this one just like that. This single was released on the 30th Sept 1966 and is in mint condition. Please see my other super hard to find singles. Thanks
