THE THREE SOUNDS “It Just Got To Be” RVG, P, DG, LAM, Blue Note BLP 4120 Mono Vinyl
This is 1963, first edition, “Van Gelder” stamped, Laminated Cover, “REVIEW COPY,” “P” pressing of THE THREE SOUNDS’ “It Just Got To Be” on the "New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 4120. Musicians include Gene Harris, Andrew Simpkins, Bill Dowdy.
VINYL plays with consistent low to occasionally medium level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, 2 or 3 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, spindle wear. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in beautiful shape. No peeling. Corners worn. Seams and spine nearly perfect. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows a little wear, “REVIEW COPY” indicates very early pressing. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
