Scarce and sought after 1966 UK very first MONO 12" LP pressing rock/beat/garage classic in all round excellent+ condition, on the PAGE ONE record label, POL 001

One of my favourite 60's bands - hard to categorise because their music covered many genres, a bit of rock, beat, garage, psychedelia...a truly influential band responsible for some classic songs with this being their classic debut album.

The appearance of the vinyl is excellent+, bright and shiny and with a gorgeous gleam in normal light. Once held under a bright light, and at the right angle, you can detect just a few small wispy hairlines and tiny paper scuffs - all are insignificant and do not adversely affect playback at all. A real "gleamer", made even more desirable by being an original classic heavy duty 60's slab of vinyl!

Each label is pristine. All writing remains perfectly defined, as does the iconic colouring with no fading whatsoever. Not even the usual wispy spindle trails.

The front side laminated outer sleeve is excellent. The rich colour vibrancy of this very first pressing has been retained with barely any scuffing or rubbing at all on any of the edges. The spine is rigid with all writing perfectly intact and just two tiny crease marks towards the top end of the spine. There is some very mild laminate lifting adjacent to the spine and towards the top edge at the spine end, and the corners at each end of the spine are a little rubbed. The reverse side is again a strong excellent, with the flipbacks in great shape (just the occasional tiny nick) and remaining fully functional. A strong excellent.

And finally there is the quality of the audio, which is again excellent. Beautiful tone with impressive clarity. Not quite perfect due to the occasional very light background static, only really noticeable at the beginning and end of each side. No clicks, no obvious interference or background crackle, and no distortion even on the higher frequencies. A terrific listen.

Comes complete with original poly-lined plain white inner, which itself is near perfect - no tears or splits and completely functional.

In summary, a strong excellent copy of this influential 60's classic very is UK pressing, and I can't imagine that there are too many copies out there in better condition : remarkable for a record now more than 50 years old!!

I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. For this item postage & packaging will be Royal Mail 1st class : UK £3.00, continental Europe £5, and Rest of the World £9.

NOTE : For items selling for more than £50 to non-UK bidders I insist upon "tracked" and/or "signed for" postage, which will typically add a further £2-4 onto postage costs, dependent upon location.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint

Description: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

Description: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good

Description: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

Description: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair 

Description: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor

Description: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

Description: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
