Jerry Reed is a whole guitar case full of soul. Ask any of his fellow musicians in Nashville, who are, incidentally, some of the greatest musicians in the world. Ask any of the pop or C&W performers who have recorded his compositions. Ask my father Chet Atkins. Now, Daddy doesn't have many favorites; only the greats impress him. Jerry Reed is one of those greats. Therefore, my father takes a great personal; ^pride in producing Jerry's first lp.

It was Daddy who first influenced Jerry's guitar work. Now Jerry is just about the strongest force behind Daddy's style. So what is Jerry Reed all about? Well, he makes you feel and listen. You take in his intricate guitar licks like they were  words. He's funny, lyrical , soulful, ingenious, out of sight, and all of those harmonious adjectives. Jerry Reed is "Tobacco Road," Tin Pan Alley and Bleecker & MacDouga all rolled up into blue-eyed soul. But that still does not begin to explain what Jerry Reed is all about. It's impossible. Think I'm exaggerating? Listen and you will understand.
