  Super rare 60s' Detroit garage rock.

Youtube: In 1965, the Underdogs cut Hideout's first single, "Man In The Glass," a song based on an Alcoholics Anonymous poem. The flip side was "Judy Be Mine" aka "Friday At The Hideout," which the Romantics redid. "Man in the Glass" made enough noise locally for Hideout to ink a master deal with Reprise

Discog: Both sides of this single are typical examples of what sixties' kids sounded like when they learned three chords on the guitar. In short, excellent stuff.

However, I have always questioned the authorship of the lyrics, which are falsely attributed to "Buzz Van Houten". If the truth be known, the origin of the lyrics actually come from a poem written in 1934 by Peter "Dale" Winbrow.
