THE UNDERGROUND - Psychedelic Visions USA - black & silver MERCURY - WC 13667 Original US 1967 first pressing of a wild garage FUZZTONE GUITAR led psych album...one you never much see and when you do dealers want high $$ in exchange for! Cover is EX and the record is EX+ to NM condition.
One of the *winners* in a line of exploitation psych albums released in the SIXTIES to capitalize on the psychedelic craze. This one’s more in the “Garage/Punk” vein and it’s a fun ride, containing some nice takes on hip grooves including a fuzz distorted version of “Tobacco Road” with an jamming break that would make the Velvet Underground proud. All told it's a pretty solid and overal great exploito album including more highlights like garage rave up versions of lulu's SHOUT and the COUNT FIVE 'Psychotic Reaction', along with some of their own fuzztone jammers. Psych for ageing surf heads that couldn't come to terms with the acid era. The album goes deeper into garage, West Coast and psych as ever heard before in these types of albums, with strong vocals, and played for most part by a relatively hip bunch of cats calling themselves "THE UNDERGROUND".
