Description
You are bidding on an extremely rare, weird and oddly wonderful vanity LP by a duo called The Kaplan Brothers, heard here on "The Unviersal Sounds of the Kaplan Brothers", an LP released by Kap Record Productions of Chicago, and undated.
Tracks on the album include: Running Scared ("a Kaplan Brothers Original"), Green Green Grass of Home, Sunny, Malaguena Solorosa, A Taste of Honey, Gentle On My Mind, Gone (another original), This Guy's in Love with You, Yellow Bird, and Hava Nagila.
The album really has to be heard to be believed. The arrangements are odd, bizarre at times, with apparently deliberate additions of five beat measures into familiar songs, and unusual instrumental and performance choices throughout. The back cover, with the brothers portraying purveyors of different styles of music, is also really weird and funny.
I am not an expert in rating albums, but can report that this album has some scuffs and visible scratches. I believe it plays better than it looks, and because I want to make sure potential buyers know what they are getting with this album, which I understand to be quite collectable, I will include six segments of the album, featuring different points (beginning, middle and end) of six different tracks, chosen at random for a good audio picture of the album's quality, as well as some of the weirdness I've described:

The album cover has some ring wear, as well as wear along the bottom edge, and at the corners, as can be seen in the photo, above, but aside from a bit of splitting along the bottom next to the opening, it is otherwise intact.
