THE UPSETTERS WITH LEE PERRY & FRIENDS – BUILD THE ARK – 1990 3 LP BOX SET – EX

As far as I’m aware the only UK vinyl release of this compilation. This is the rare Trojan Records original, not the recent Dutch, Music On Vinyl reissue.
All sides lovely and glossy, five are just about spotless. I must have played side one more than the others because it does have a several small lines and surface scuffs, but nothing particularly deep.

Run-ins are all just about silent and the sound is great. Because of visual issues with side 1, I listened to the whole of this side. On headphones there was background crackle and ticks at times. But, listening to it “in the room” it was fine and sounded great. There were a couple of times that I noticed some background, but I don’t feel that it dominated the music.

Inner sleeves are in excellent condition. One has a 7cm split on one edge and another has a few age related spots on the back (see photos), but really very clean. I will pack the disc in a spare sleeve to prevent the split becoming worse in transit.

Box is a little rubbed around the edges from 30 years of shelf life, but is in very robust condition overall.
