Description


The Velvet Underground started out in 1964, in New York City, and was a product of Andy Warhol's influence. In 1967, the band, along with (French model, actress, and singer) Nico, released their debut album. Warhol, of course, did the artwork for the album cover. The first version of the "banana cover" was peeled off to find a flesh colored banana underneath! The band has influenced countless other acts through the years, and is still recognized as pioneers in several genres of music. (RIP Lou, Sterling, and Nico. You three were an important part of a type of music, art, and a lifestyle that still exists today, many decades later!)


In 2008, by way of record label Vinyl Lovers, a picture disc LP of this art rock and psychedelic landmark album was released. Up for grabs today is a new copy of that sweet 60s trippy collectible! Bought new and never played, as I just don't put specialty vinyl on my turntable. But you certainly can, as most of today's pic discs sound great! The Velvet Underground & Nico are ready to come home with you!
