Description
Up for auction today I have a Holy Grail album, albeit not in the best condition. This is the original pressing of the infamous Velvet Underground and Nico on Verve with the original banned “Torso Cover” that was quickly recalled and pasted over. The banana on the front has been peeled but most of it still remains in tact and was put back on. I haven’t removed it myself because I don’t want to risk damaging it any further.
As for condition, the jacket is pretty rough. It has ring wear, seam splits, tape, a worn and illegible spine, some writing, and a little water damage on the bottom. But the back, well, it’s the cover everybody wants. The “torso” version and it is presentable. The LP is somewhere in the VG- to G+ range. Has lots of light scratches and a couple heavier ones. It needs a cleaning and it has noise. See the photos for a better idea of condition.
It works as a filler copy and will give you bragging rights to say you own a copy of this extremely rare LP. Get it while you can. Low opening bid and no reserve. Shipping is $5 via media mail to the 48 states. Please ask any questions before bidding.
