WOW!!! For sale is a RARE 1st Pressing of The Velvet Underground’s blistering second album “White Light/White Heat”! This copy is in incredible condition- still in the original shrink wrap with a STUNNINGLY CLEAN disc!! There is some wear to the exposed bottom corner of the opening edge but that’s pretty much the only flaw with the entire thing! These did not sell well at the time and as a result are incredibly hard to find...let alone a copy like this! See below and study the pics for more details...

Sleeve: VG+

Andy Warhol’s skull tattoo is visible...original first pressing sleeve contains the error “There She Comes Now” instead of the correct title “Here She Comes Now” as it appears on the label. Lou Reed is credited with Lead Guitar not just Guitar as on later pressings.

Most amazingly, this is still in its original shrink wrap!! The sleeve would grade EX were it not for the opening edge corner. More to follow. The plastic wrap has become brittle and has begun to shrink away from opening edge and has started to tear along bottom. The exposed corner of the opening edge has the only damage to speak of on the sleeve. Corner is rubbed and the black slick has been worn off. Small sign of browning- possible water damage in the same spot on rear. See photos. The majority of the sleeve though has been protected under the shrink and would easily grade EX or EX+ with no damage to mention! All other signs of wear appear only on the shrink wrap which has kept the rubbing and ring wear from affecting the sleeve. #2 has been written in black marker on the shrink wrap on the back NOT on the sleeve itself.

Disc: EX

GORGEOUS thick disc retains all of its glorious sheen. Looks nearly immaculate save for a handful of odd tiny light superficial hairlines. Truly a stunner!!

Labels: NM

BEAUTIFUL blue Verve Three Prong labels have no problems to mention. Only a couple of spindle traces are even visible. Obviously this was not played much at all!

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
