VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO
Non-remastered original!
The LP:
Verve Records’ original stereo vinyl album. I’m not sure of its release date, but I personally bought this album new in either 1967 or in 1968. The record has a few small scratches and scuff marks, but all things considered, I’d say it’s in pretty good condition. I don’t have the ability to play the record now so I can't say for sure, but I’m guessing it plays fine. FWIW, I don’t remember it ever being heavily played.
The album’s cover:
The album’s gatefold cover is in very good shape considering its age. There’re no punch holes, water damage or writing on it, for example, but it does have ring/shelf wear as can be seen in the photos, and there is some separation of the cover at the top. (See photos #5 & 6) Also, the inside dust cover isn’t the original. (For good or ill, back in the day, I replaced all my albums’ paper dust covers with more protective aftermarket ones.)
Banana sticker info:
Shortly after I purchased this original album new in San Francisco, a friend began to peel the sticker. Fortunately, however(!), I caught her in the act before she peeled more than just a bit of the top of the banana. It does show a tear/fold(?) where I stuck the piece back down, but if you look closely at my close-up photo of the slight imperfection (See photo #7), I think you’ll agree this is one very well-preserved original sticker.
