mint: never been played/in mint press condition
near mint: in almost perfect condition - play like mint but may show very light mark to vinyl (eg. from paper sleeve)
ex: will play cleanly throughout with no skips or jumps (unless otherwise described), whith some surface marking. +/- used to further define quality
vg: with audible distortion and heavier surface marking.Records with+++/+ +/+ are still enjoyable to listen to, but records marked VG or G are of value only to vinyl collectors
