Description
Extremely rare 1970 album on the ultra-collectable Folk Heritage label.
This is FHR 016S by the four piece folk group The Wayfarers who perform traditional folk songs on this very scarce album. The line-up is Ian Gartside, vocal & guitar, Dave Peters, vocal & mandolin, Brian Dewhurst, vocal, Steve Ococks, vocal & guitar.
Tracks are - Bonny Ship the Diamond, Fair & Tender Ladies, Droylsden Wakes, Farewell Tarwathie, Oxford & Hampton Railway, Matty Groves, Praties, High Germany, Noble Foxhunting, A Sailors Life, Peggy & the Soldier, Haul Away Joe, Blood Red Roses, New York Girls
All the output of the Folk Heritage label is collectable but the very early issues, such as this one, when the label was putting out the best of British folk music, are particularly scarce & sought after. They were issued in very small quantities and were mainly sold by the band at gigs in small folk clubs - hence their rarity today.
LP AND SLEEVE ARE IN WONDERFUL CONDITION
